Private by design
Most "online video compressors" upload your file to their servers. SumoSquash doesn't: it runs FFmpeg-class
encoding directly in your browser with WebCodecs (hardware-accelerated), so
nothing is transmitted, stored, or watermarked.
Why "Your files are too powerful"?
Discord rejects uploads over its size cap — 10 MB on free accounts — so game clips, screen recordings and
phone videos get blocked. SumoSquash fixes this by re-encoding your clip to a bitrate that lands under the cap,
optionally trimming to just the moment you want and downscaling to 720p when the target is tight.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No — compression happens entirely inside your browser. The file never leaves your device.
Can I trim before compressing?

My clip is huge / 4K and it's slow. Why?
The browser engine is limited (no unlimited memory, capped acceleration). For big files, 4K and batch
jobs, the desktop app uses native FFmpeg and your GPU.
